3D pictures
with M2D, Laser scanner

The M2D laser scanners are usable for 3D pictures. Due to the fact, that the signal processing is already conducted in the evaluation electronics, the two-dimensional contour lines are immediately available at the signal output. For the third dimension, the data from scanner movement, respectively from object movement are stored in addition.

CCD sensors implicate advantages on measuring edges and feature absolute accuracy and linearity independent from the surface. Therefore, our scanners are able to measure objects of different materials precisely, even if they feature very different reflectance.

At M2D laser scanner, the motor powered precision mechanics has been replaced by a special optical lens system. Therefore theses scanners are maintenance-free.

M2D Scanner:
Using a matrix camera, the exposure time is adjustable up to 1/47.000 seconds.
Resolution up to 15 µm (0.6 mil)

M20D-XF Scanner:
With a high-speed camera an exposure time of 1/50.000 seconds is possible.
Resolution up to 30 µm (1.18 mil)

With the delivered software basic package, data can be imported, as well as the sensors can be configured and controlled. In addition, filters are available to edit measuring data.

The new scanner M20D-XF achieves up to 1000 3D profiles per second.

For over 20 years, MEL is the most innovative producer of intelligent sensors. Worldwide there are several thousand laser scanners in operation. Take advantage of our expierence.
We deliver laser scanner, evaluation electronics, software and modules. For the weldseam guiding, and the seam inspection, our variations of M2DW are at your disposal, or alternatively we make available the Bug automatic welder (complete system).
